I didn’t have my daughter’s nursery fully decorated before she was born, like some people might’ve. I really wanted to use the room first to see what we would actually use and how. Turns out we go through baby wipes like it’s nobody’s business! But they were always just sitting out on the changing table, clashing with the rest of the room. So I came up with this cozy, cute, simple cover pattern that’s adjustable! Now I can just pop any brand of wipes inside as soon as the last ones run out.

Materials
For this pattern you’ll need about 100g (3.5oz) of any weight yarn.
I used Paintbox Yarns Wool Mix Super Chunky. Its a super bulky weight yarn, but this pattern is adjustable so you can use any yarn and the recommended needle size on the yarn label.
Pattern
Since the pattern is adjustable to any weight yarn, you’ll reference the gauge listed on your yarn label. However, getting exact gauge isn’t important for this pattern. If you use the recommended needle size for your yarn and aren’t a crazy tight or loose knitter, it will work out just fine.
Check the “Useful math and numbers” section to see how to calculate how many sts to cast on. Co the number of stitches to fit the length of your wipe pack.
K every st until your piece measures 3.5in (9cm).
Wipe Opening:
Over the next two rows, bo 2in (5cm) worth of sts in the middle of your work, k remaining sts, and then cast on the bound of sts on the next row.
From the wipe opening, cast on row, k all sts until your piece measures 7.5in
Bind off with a long tail.
Seaming:
Seam bind off row to cast on row using your yarn tail.
Then seam one end of your tube closed (garter edge to garter edge).
Pick Up Sts:
On the open end of your tube, pick up one st for each garter ridge on the top side (half the total # of garter ridges).
K the picked up sts until your piece measures 5in (13cm). Bind off. Weave in ends.
If you use the same yarn that I used, here are all the exact stitch counts that I had
Cast on stitch count:
9sts x 2 = 18sts
Wipe opening bind off:
9sts ÷ 2 = 4.5sts
(I rounded down to 4sts)
Sts to knit before wipe opening bind off sts:
(18sts – 4sts) ÷ 2 = 7sts
Total number of garter ridges: 22 ridges
Number of picked up sts: 11 sts
There you have it! I hope you enjoyed this pattern. Feel free to share your projects on Ravelry or Instagram, I’d love to see them. Have fun!
