What you’ll need

Super Chunky Crochet Scarf Pattern

To begin, Chain 95 (be sure not to chain too tightly).

slip stitch to join your chain in the round and be careful not to twist your chain.

Round 1: Chain 2, Half-double crochet into each stitch on your chain. When you reach the end of your round, slip stitch into the top of your chain 2 from the beginning of the round.

Round 2: Chain 2, Half-double crochet into the “back bar” of your stitches. This is also known as the “camel stitch.” Do this into every stitch. When you reach the end of your round, slip stitch into the top of your chain 2 from the beginning of the round.

Round 3: Chain 2, Half-double crochet into every stitch normally, under both legs of the stitch and not into the back bar as you did previously. When you reach the end of your round, slip stitch into the top of your chain 2 from the beginning of the round.

Round 4: Chain 2, Half-double crochet into every stitch, this time working into the back loops only. When you reach the end of your round, slip stitch into the top of your chain 2 from the beginning of the round.

Repeat rounds 1-4 one more time. Fasten off and weave in your ends!

The abbreviated version of the pattern is: Ch 95, join in round, Round 1: HDC, Round 2: HDC back bar (camel stitch), Round 3: HDC, Round 4: HDC BLO. Repeat for a total of 8 rounds.
