Materials

For this pattern you’ll need about 100g (3.5oz) of any weight yarn.

I used Ice Yarns Lorena Worsted. Its a number 4 weight yarn, but this pattern is adjustable so you can use any yarn and the recommended needle size on the yarn label.

Abbreviations

ch = chain

dc = double crochet

st(s) = stitch(es)

sl st = slip stitch

Pattern

To figure out how many chains to make your foundation chain, measure the short edge of your baby wipe pack. Mine was 4.5in (11.5cm).

Chain that length plus 2chs.

Skip 3chs and make 1dc into the 4th ch from your hook. Make 1dc in each ch in the foundation ch.

Into the last ch, make 6dcs total, turning the corner to work along the back of the foundation ch.

Work 1dc in each ch on the opposite side of the foundation ch as well.

Into the bottom of the ch3 that you skipped at the beginning of your foundation chain, make 6dcs. Work 1dc into the next available stitch and every stitch, working in a spiral until your piece measures about 3.5in (9cm).

Wipe Opening

In the middle of your round (between the two corners) pause and try your wipe cover on a pack of wipes. See how your wipe opening is lining up and switch from working in the round to working flat if it looks like you’re about to crochet over your wipe opening.

Ch3 and turn (to switch to working flat) and make 1dc in each stitch, working up to the last 2sts.

Don’t work the last 2 sts of the round, instead ch3, turn your work and make 1dc in each stitch of the row. Repeat once more or until your wipe opening is 2in (5cm) tall.

To resume working in the round, ch2 and sl st into the turning ch 3 from the beginning of the row. Ch1, turn and make 1 single crochet into the same st. Make 1dc in each of the next 2chs and in each st of the round. When you come to the single crochet you made at the beginning of this row, work 1 dc into that st as normal and continue making dcs in a spiral until your work is the same length on both sides of the wipe opening.

Cover Flap

To finish off this pattern with a little flap that will cover the opening where you change out the wipe packs, crochet up to the bottom corner of the front of your wipe cover. You can eyeball it with the corner on the opposite end. Ch3 to begin working flat again, turn your work and make 1dc in each stitch

until you reach the top corner of the front of the wipe cover.

Ch3, turn and work 1dc in each stitch. Continue until your flap measures 5in (13cm).

There you have it! I hope you enjoyed this pattern. Feel free to share your projects on Ravelry or Instagram, I’d love to see them. Have fun!
