The bobble stitch is a surprisingly easy crochet stitch with loads of personality! Even a beginner can tackle this stitch. If you know how to do the basic crochet stitches, the bobble stitch is just a slight modification! To make it even easier, there’s a video tutorial:
Stitch Pattern
The bobble stitch is worked across at least 2 stitches. You can put any number of stitches between bobbles. For the purpose of this tutorial, we’ll just do bobbles one after the other with no stitches between.
Crochet an even numbered chain to your desired length
Row 1: Skip the first chain and make 1sc in each chain of the row.
Row 2: Ch1, turn. 1sc, *bobble stitch (explained below), 1sc* Repeat between ** to the end of the row.
To do the bobble stitch, *Yarn over and insert your hook into the stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through the first two loops on your hook* Repeat between ** a total of 3 times until you have 4 loops on your hook. Yarn over and draw through all 4 loops.
For columns of bobbles stacked on top of each other, repeat rows 1-2 until your desired length.
For staggered bobbles
Row 3: Ch1, turn. 1sc in each stitch
Row 4: *bobble, 1sc* 1sc
Repeat rows 1-4 to your desired length for staggered bobbles, nestled between each other, every other row, like you see pictured.
